"The 2019 Trane was named after John Coltrane, one of the most disruptive and creative jazz musicians ever. It was produced with Cinsault from an old vineyard in the Tinajacura zone of Guarilihue where the soils have lots of quartz and deliver vertical wines with complexity. It fermented with 60% to 70% full clusters and indigenous yeasts and matured in an oak vat for 10 months. This is vibrant and very balanced, with the same perfume as the others. The 2019 feels superb, well above previous vintages, edgy with complexity. And it has that unmistakable perfume of the Cinsault from Itata."
Winemaker Notes:
"This single vineyard Cinsault comes from a plot of silty, sandy granite that includes a high portion of stones. Fermentation, 30% of which was whole cluster, took place in concrete tank utilizing indigenous yeasts. Aging took place in 1,500-liter oak vats for 11 months prior to bottling. Named after John Coltrane, the “Trane” Cinsault is full of the energy, tension, and complexity found in each of Coltrane’s jazz recordings."
