"Immediately inviting on the nose, the bouquet offers donut peach and lemon curd, dried galangal. The mid-palate has notable extract despite its typically firm-ish crispness. The solid finish slips in a hint of flintiness. This offers immediate pleasure, but it will take its time to fully unfold in the bottle given its notable concentration. Be patient."
Jasper Morris, 92-94 Points
"Attractive lemon yellow, the bouquet lies between Forêts and Vaillons on the stone front, then a little more weight and the classic light reduction of Montmains. A stricter approach perhaps. Good weight throughout, a complete and reflective wine, worth a long wait. Drink from 2027-2035."
Decanter, 93 Points
"Distinctive, creamy, almost lactic character on the nose. An intriguing Montmains but, at the moment, the fruit is a bit behind the acidity. Will need time. Lovely purity, not a blockbuster, but there is plenty of sunny ripeness. Located on the top of Montmains, with vines lying on thin soils over the bedrock in a windy area."
Wine Advocate, 93 Points
"The 2022 Chablis 1er Cru Montmains wafts from the glass with aromas of crisp green apple, oyster shell and white flowers, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and suave palate that's deep and concentrated, animated by racy acids and concluding with chalky grip."
