"The 2022 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur is brilliant, mingling aromas of citrus oil, fresh mint and white flowers with notions of iodine and wet stones in a complex bouquet, followed by a full-bodied, deep and layered palate that's cool and racy, defying the vintage, and concluding with a long, saline finish."

"Starting with notes of cherimoya, gingerbread and panko, the wine's fruit flavors edge into tart pluots then star fruit. They are like nesting dolls that keep popping up with similar but slightly more discreet flavors each time. The fruit is ripe and layered on the nicely extracted mid-palate, and the playful acidity counters with good tanginess. What an extravagantly long finish!"

"Pale colour with a light green tint, less floral and more on the fruit, but certainly with a feeling that there is much more to reveal. All about the white fruit with a sumptuous weight that emerges at the back, a little point of acidity. Perfect balance at the finish, very different in shape from Blanchot. Drink from 2030-2040+."

"The 2022 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru is very complex and enticing on the nose: lemon verbena, crushed stone, quite a strong oyster shell element that is accentuated by aeration. The palate is very well balanced with a keen thread of acidity, taut and fresh, very sapid with a strict and linear finish that lingers in the mouth. This is a long-term prospect."

"Note: from a .75 ha parcel. Here too there is enough wood present to remark upon framing the ripe and fresh aromas of green fruit, citrus confit, spice and iodine hints. There is even more size, weight and power to the broad-shouldered flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract while simultaneously delivering strikingly good persistence. This isn't as refined, though it almost never is, and a wine that will age as long as anyone would reasonably want to keep it. Stated otherwise, this is pretty much textbook  Valmur *Burghound Don't Miss!*"

"Crisp, linear and focused, this doesn’t have the out-and-out power of the producer's Les Clos, but makes up for it with finesse. A thoroughbred needing several years. Lovely white peach flavour. From a large plot on the left side of Valmur. This site gets the morning sun and direct heat in the main part of the day but remains shaded from mid-afternoon onwards."
