Decanter, 97 Points

"This superb wine boasts plenty of pronounced, youthful and upfront fruit aromas, with hints of Granny Smith apple and passion fruit touched with spice, and a profound saline mineral underpinning. The texture is creamy and dense, with an almost brooding character. Isabelle Raveneau sees it as a combination of Blanchot and Valmur; for me, it is simply a triumph. Although nearly approachable now, a savvy wine lover will wait 10 years to open and consume it over the decades to come."

John Gilman, 97 Points

"The 2023 Chablis “Clos” from Domaine Raveneau is another brilliant wine in the making. The very complex bouquet wafts from the glass in a mix of lemon, pink grapefruit, tangerine, anise, beeswax, chalky soil tones, oyster shell, citrus zest and a very discreet touch of oak. On the palate the wine is deep, complex and full-bodied, with bottomless depth at the core, superb soil signature and grip, a lovely girdle of acidity and a very, very long, poised and impeccably balanced finish. All this magical wine needs is enough time in the cellar to blossom. (Drink between 2033-2080)"

Tim Atkin, 97 Points

"Coming from four plots in the heart of Les Clos, the 2023 is brilliant. Sculpted, muscular and dignified, this is wound up with powerful citrus and orchard fruit concentration. Fullish in body yet with reserved abv, roaring acidity nicely handles the notable extract. Intense salinity stars on the layered, long finish. This is my Les Clos of the vintage."

Wine Advocate, 96-97 Points

"Raveneau’s 2023 Chablis Grand Cru Clos, issuing from a rather windy, stony south-facing site in the middle of the climat’s slope, is another success. It wafts from the glass with a deep bouquet of beeswax, orange zest, pear and dried white flowers. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and multidimensional, with a concentrated core of fruit and a slightly more powerful profile than the other grands crus, concluding with a long, resonating finish. Although I presently give slight preference to the Valmur, time will tell which turns out to be a finer wine. With its strong record, it’s difficult to bet against Clos. Raveneau owns just 0.5 hectares of Les Clos; magic awaits those who will manage to secure a bottle or two and enjoy at its plenitude, some 15 years after the vintage."

Jasper Morris, 94-97 Points

"Les Clos offers another degree of intensity, the tightly knit power bursting through on the nose. Immense detail, once again Clos rises above the vintage with superb tension behind. Dancing on the palate, with a perfect balance of fruit, acidity and backbone. Drink from 2028-2040."

Burghound, 93-96 Points

"Note: from a .54 ha parcel. Much like the Butteaux, the brooding nose is largely dominated by mineral reduction that is liberally laced with iodine, shrimp shell, sea breeze and Granny Smith apple scents. There is outstanding volume and power to the borderline painfully intense large-scaled flavors that brim with both minerality and sappy dry extract while delivering superb length on the balanced and hugely long finish that is not quite as dry as it usually is. It almost goes without saying that this is compact and bult-to-age but in fact, that is precisely what this is and extended patience will absolutely be required. A strong candidate for wine of the vintage honors.*Burghound Don't Miss!*

Vinous, 94 Points

"The 2023 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a beautiful bouquet with wonderfully delineated crushed stone, yellow flowers and orange blossom scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine bead of acidity and hints of white tea and chai fanning out beautifully toward the finish. The 2023 is divine."
