"Raveneau has 0.5ha in Les Clos in a plot which runs straight down the slope in the mid-levels of the climat. Great power and precision here, almost as if it were chiselled from the rock underneath the roots. Notes of pear and white peach, cut with thrilling acidity and great zesty acidity to finish. Very subtle oak. Powerful and fine. Very complex and layered in flavour. A great 2022."

"The 2022 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has an absolutely delectable bouquet with irresistible scents of yellow flowers, orange pith, crushed limestone and light nutmeg scents. You could just sit there and nose this all day. The palate is extremely well balanced with a killer line of acidity, very intense and powerful with a satisfyingly long tail on the finish. Outstanding. What else do you expect?"

Here too there is just enough wood present to merit mentioning setting off the nose of essence of acacia, spiced pear, heavy mineral reduction, oyster shell, iodine and that pungent tidal pool character. On the palate the imposingly-scaled flavors also brim with sappy dry extract as well an almost aggressive minerality on the compact, powerful and driving finale that is serious and unbelievably persistent yet not especially austere.
