Bruce Patch cut his teeth in the music industry - helping to discover the famous 80s band, The Cars.  In the lates 1990s, he transitioned to the wine industry where he became famous for his Wine Guerrilla Zinfandels before opening his eponymous wine label.  Since then, he has built his brand and won accolades for his line-up of stellar single vineyard Zinfandels all featuring his trademark lush and full style.  Bruce Patch makes big, lush and drinkable wines spotlighting the acclaimed vineyards, grapes and appellations of Sonoma County at significant values.  The last few times we had an offering from Bruce Patch, they sold out in under an hour, so act fast!  The 2023 Bruce Patch Giovanatto Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel comes from a fifty year old vineyard in Alexander Valley.  This an outstanding wine and a beautiful Old Vine Zinfandel.  It is supple with a long finish.  It's crisp and refreshing and a great summertime wine.  This Old Vine Zin has notes of cherry, cranberry, blood orange, baking spices and earth.  Enjoy!

"Light crimson in color. 14.7% ABV. From a fifty year old vineyard in Alexander Valley. High toned nose of red fruits, citrus and baking spices. Light body with medium acidity. Crisp and refreshing. Cherry, cranberry, blood orange and earth on the palate. The finish is long and supple. This will be a great Summertime wine served at cellar temperature. Best over the next several years. $40 at the winery and retail."

"The Giovanatto family has been in the northern Alexander Valley town of Cloverdale for over 80 years. Pierre Giovanatto's father ran a gravel mining company and farmed this beautiful old vine zin vineyard. The vineyard was planted in 1974 on St. George rootstock with the Heritage clone. Old vine zin pruned cordone style."
