Cabernet Franc used to be known as just a blending grape but it's finally getting its due thanks to a growing number of winemakers. It's the parent grape for beloved varietals Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Carmenere. Cab Franc is the subtler and more delicate of the Cabernets and expresses sumptuous fruit, savory aromas and polished tannins. It's also gaining popularity among consumers and vintners. It's gone from Bordeaux blends to taking center stage with an increasing number of winemakers worldwide making amazing single expressions of Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Franc is incredibly drinkable and known for its freshness, vibrant acidity and versatility in food pairings. The best ones can stand shoulder to shoulder with the greatest of Cabernet Sauvignon wines. The Meeker family has been making wine and winning awards in Dry Creek since 1984. The winery's first release was an instant success winning eight wine competition medals and becoming the third most awarded Zin in the country that year. Meeker is a family-owned winery now run by the second generation. The 2020 Meeker Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Franc is full-bodied and structured with an elongated finish. Spicy and lively, it has prominent oak, a plush mouthfeel and great density. On the nose there are aromas of cherry, blackberry and tobacco. This Cabernet Franc has a lovely streak of acidity and is ready to drink now. On the palate, there are notes of berries, herbal flavors, cigar box, mint and lemon peel. This is a classic Cab Franc and will be incredible with your next grilled steak. Enjoy!

"Bright cherry, blackberry and tobacco aromas dance in the glass of this spicy and lively Cabernet Franc. The palate brings a lovely streak of acidity that elevates the berry and herbal flavors on display before an acid-driven finish that lingers with echoes of cigar box, mint and lemon peel."
Winemaker Notes:
"This is classic Cabernet Franc: Light, lean stonefruit like white cherries on the nose under a canopy of sage, jalapeño, violets, and eucalyptus. Full-bodied and structured through the mid-palate before an elongated finish. More prominent oak, plush mouthfeel, and great density yield an incredible wine for your next grilled steak or mushrooms. Drink now."
