"Massal selection vines planted at 14-15,000 per hectare on a mix of marl and clay-limestone. Mid lemon yellow. Again, the bouquet starts backward but only because of an excess of concentration. Linear intensity, a pure white fruit, growing in stature further back on the palate. A very light citrus wash, and amazing persistence. Drink from 2028-2035. Tasted Nov 2024."

"The 2023 Santenay Les Vignes Denses comes from young six-or-seven-year-old vines planted at 14,000 and 15,000 per hectare.  It ha notes of lime flower and beeswax unfolding on the nose, with just a touch of orange blossom.  The palate is well balanced and very subtle in style, with a crisp line of acidity, touches of apricot and white peach and a precise, lightly spiced finish.  This is delightful."
