Decanter, 94 Points

"Guillaume d'Angerville farms more than a hectare of white grapes in Santenots, originally planted with Chardonnay by his grandfather, Sem d'Angerville, in 1905. He maintains the tradition in fine form, and the 2023 is a delight, with ripe, buttery apple fruit aromas and a hint of hazelnut. The texture is rich and supple, luxurious rather than racy, yet this wine will begin to open in three to five years but should also have the substance to age for the long term."

Jasper Morris, 91-93 Points

"Pale colour, the fruit has a waxy lemon note to it medium bodied, though with good intensity towards the back of the palate, indeed this does have impressive persistence. The fruit is generous enough, apple and persimmon, to cover the bones, with a light citrus wash to finish. Drink from 2027-2033. Tasted Nov 2024."

Wine Advocate, 90-92 Points

"Offering up aromas of pear, orange zest and freshly baked bread, the 2023 Meursault 1er Cru Santenots is medium to full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a succulent, charming profile. More immediate than its 2022 predecessor, this will drink well young."

Burghound, 89-92 Points

"Note: from a parcel of 30+ year old vines in Les Plures. A notably more floral-suffused nose is comprised by notes of the essence of pear and apple compote. Once again there is good volume and a caressing mouthfeel to the medium weight flavors that possess markedly more size, weight and depth on the balanced and firmer finale. This has sufficient stuffing to repay 3 to 5 years of keeping."

Vinous, 88-90 Points

"The 2023 Meursault Santenots 1er Cru is quite effervescent on the nose with finely delineated Satsuma, orange zest and just a hint of nectarine. The palate is well balanced with, again, a slightly honeyed texture. It is less acidic than the 2022 and almost creamy toward the finish. Enjoy this very seductive Meursault over the next five or six years."
