"‘Clos Salomon’ is one of Givry’s most prized premier crus, an extraordinary walled plot of older vines that has been held as a monopole (one owner) since the year 1632. As of the 2022 vintage, this hallowed vineyard has been sold to the generations-deep Sarrazin clan, a rare coup for the family to add this treasured plot to their already exemplary collection of Givry terroirs. For the 2022 vintage, the prior owners vinified this wine; the Sarrazin family bottled it. (As of the 2023 vintage and beyond, the land and the wine will be controlled by the Sarrazins.). Blessed with exceptional and unusual terroir (alluvial scree, a result of centuries of runoff from a small valley above the plot), ‘Clos Salomon’ is a wine made for the long haul, with structured tannins and a pronounced black-fruited core. Aromas of crushed violets, cooked raspberries, licorice, orange rind. Textured and bold; red plums, black cherries."
