Winemaker Notes: 

"Our wine comes from four plots in Volnay, totaling 1.28 hectares of vines. These four plots touch each other and are located at the bottom of the hillside, to the south-east of the village. The plots “les Aussy” and “Cros Martin” were planted in the 1980s and “les Echards” and “les Jouères” in the 1950s. They are located just below our Premier Cru Volnay “Les Roncerets”.  The land benefits from a slight slope, on limestone bedrock covered by water-retaining clays. The soil is made up of silt superimposed on ancient alluvium.  

The nose is spicier than that of Pommard, with immediate notes cloves and peppers which intermingle in the nuances of wild berries. The fruit gradually emerges from aeration. The flavor matches the aromas: the wine is nicely full-bodied, with a grain of crunchy tannin and a frank vitality."
