"The 2018 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru demonstrates more new oak on the nose than its peers, more backward and consequently it does not articulate its terroir as much as its peers. . .for the moment at least. The palate is medium-bodied with quite which tannins that lend this weight and density. Solid, powerful and almost burly, this is a huge wine that risks deviating away from Pinot Noir typicité. . .but stops short of overstepping the mark. It may go either way, collapse on its own concentration or evolve into one of the finest wines of the vintage."
