"The 2015 Blaufränkisch Ried Ratschen comes from 50-year-old vines in a cooler site on more reddish schist and loam soils with some sand and gravel and was aged for 24 months in a 2,000-liter oak vat. Offering clear, refined and super ripe aromas of fleshy dark cherries and dark spices, this is a generously fruity, intense and pretty charming Blaufränkisch with sensual fruit. This should be great by the time it is seven years old and also with deer. An autumn wine. Tasted August 2018."
