"A blend of 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc, the 2018 Château La Cabanne has an exotic bouquet of plums, black cherries, candied violets, and orange peel. Medium to full-bodied, with good acidity and terrific balance, it shows the elegant side to the vintage and will keep for 10-15 years."

"Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 La Cabanne (composed of 94% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc) opens with some cedar/oaky overtones, giving way to a fragrant core of warm black cherries, fresh black plums and blueberry preserves with sparks of spearmint, powdered cinnamon, dried roses and redcurrant jelly. Full-bodied with taut, muscular black and blue fruits, it has a firm line of rounded tannins and just enough freshness, finishing long and spicy."

"The 2018 La Cabanne, picked from 17 September, has a lucid purple hue. The bouquet is well defined with black cherries, Dorset plum and light iodine aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, plenty of black fruit laced with truffle and cedar. The alcohol is nicely controlled here (14.10%) and there is impressive persistence. Don’t underestimate this Pomerol."
