Angel’s Envy is known for “finishing” their bourbon in Port Casks. This adds a layer of complexity and smoothness. The barrel we chose was at cask strength and brought down to 104.8 proof by their master distiller. At this proof, all the attributes we loved about this whiskey really come alive. This is the first time we have done a barrel with Angels’ Envy and we are excited for you to find out how delicious barrel-finished bourbon can be!

Nose: Initial hit of vanilla, caramel apple, candied orange, and maple. The Port finish begins to take over after several minutes in the glass adding notes of dark blue fruits.

Palate: A nice richness from the port finish rounds out the flavors of oak, apple, and fresh, ripe peaches. Finishes with a little oak spiciness. 

Alcohol: 52.4/104.8
