Deutz Rosé Champagne
Producer: Champagne Deutz
Varietal: 75% Pinot Noir, 25% Chardonnay
What We Think: In the luxury category of Rosé Champagne this one smokes the competition. Better than many that are selling for $80-$120 a bottle.
What the Critics Think: Wine Spectator writes, “Apple blossom and apricot notes are fresh and aromatic in this elegant rosé Champagne, which offers a light plushness to the fine mousse, mouthwatering acidity and accents of candied ginger, lemon biscuit and mineral. Drink now through 2021. 500 cases imported. 92/100.”
Noteworthy Facts: This Champagne gets its unique color by blending in about 8% of red wine produced from old Deutz vines on the hill of Aÿ, particularly from a plot known as “Meurtet.”
