"This approachable wine features a delicate raspberry fruit, a mineral undertone and a hint of violets. The texture is silky and light in body, with an agreeably fresh acidity. The wine does not have the same density as others in the cellar, but there is a lovely finesse and the fruit is ripe through and through. Godard notes that this is normally among the more austere wines in the cellar, perhaps due to the sand and clay soil (as opposed to granite and schist); she has fermented 60% of the grapes as whole clusters."

"The 2022 Morgon Grand Cras comes from a parcel planted on alluvial soils and aged in a mix of 500-liter and regular barrels. This has excellent delineation on the nose and more precision than the Corcelette-focused and mineral-driven. The palate is medium-bodied with finely chiseled tannins, quite sapid in the mouth with a harmonious, saline finish. This is pure class, but again, it will require time in the bottle."
