"Pouring out with her usual depth of color, this edition of Bastard Tongue is bewitching in the glass, capturing the eye, and causing the gaze to linger. Beautiful! The nose shows an indulgent generosity—the perfect cohesion of black and red fruits, cherry bark and sandalwood, all lifted by charming florality. The wine is classically lush, concentrated in both fruit and texture, and owning an electric personality driven by 2022's undeniable lift (that is true to the vintage as a whole). The kaleidoscope of Pinot Noir flavors endlessly swirl from front to back—black cherry, red pie fruit, pine forest, hibiscus, black tea, blood orange rind, cinnamon, clove, damp earth, and on, and on. A wildly complex, wonderfully rich and unwaveringly classic rendition of Bastard Tongue."
