Decanter, 95 Points

"This dynamic wine is blended from grapes purchased from two parts of the hill of Corton – most of it is from En Charlemagne in west-facing Pernande-Vergelesses, while nearly a third comes from a parcel in Les Languettes high on the slope in Aloxe. The two are very complimentary, and there is more of chalky minerality from the Pernand fruit and a riper, sweeter fruit with almost a hint of coconut from the Aloxe portion. The ripeness extends to the palate, and a density here carries the wine to the next level. Drinking Window: 2025-2055."

Jasper Morris, 93-95 Points

"Two barrels, one new, one older, one from Pernand and one Languettes. Pale lemon with the lightest green tint. This is quite laid back, some minerals, biding their time behind the oak which delivers a layer of coconut onto the palate. Crisp finish, not as powerful or full bodied as usual but with some finesse. Was perhaps the highest in sugar, naturally, and not chaptalised. Drink from 2027-2032."

Burghound, 93-95 Points

"(the proportions have changed again and in 2021 this is a blend of Les Languettes in Aloxe and En Charlemagne in Pernand). Firm reduction flattens the fruit today. More interesting are the succulent and concentrated larger-bodied flavors that retain a beguiling sense of energy that carries over to the intensely stony and hugely long finish where a touch of wood appears. This is tightly coiled and a wine that is going to require extended patience. Drink: 2031+."

Vinous, 93-95 Points

"The 2021 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru, the only cuvée matured in 228-liter pièce, comes half from Pernand and half from Les Longuettes. It has a backward nose at first that gradually opens up to reveal seductive orchard fruit, camomile and white peach aromas, though they remain discrete. The palate is creamy on the entry, fine depth, lightly spiced with ample weight on the finish. Wonderful to see how this expands with each swirl of the glass. Drink: 2025-2045."
