"Duroché has five plots of Charmes. The oldest was planted in the 1950s and the most recent in 1998. This is marvelous and concentrated with that underlying seductiveness innate to this Grand Cru. Showing good weight on the mid-palate, the mouthwatering acidity and sleek tannins have no problems reining in the cherry fruit exuberance."
Jasper Morris, 92-94 Points
"The first to be picked. 4 barrels made. A fullish crimson colour, perhaps a fraction volatile on the nose. Pure red fruit, strawberries in particular, though without too much cream. A good fresh acidity beneath, attractive more than compelling though certainly persistent. Drink from 2026-2032."

"The 2021 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, which includes 15% whole bunches, is precise and detailed on the nose with raspberry and wild strawberry, iris flower and notes of chalk dust. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins, fleshy and generous, not complex per se but sensual on the finish. This will be difficult to resist in its youth."
