Ken' Wine Guide, 94.5
This light red colored Pinot Noir from Au Bon Climat opens with a red raspberry and light oak bouquet with hints of pine pitch, vanilla, and black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, bright and savory. The flavor profile is wild strawberry and rhubarb blend with notes of cinnamon, red plum, and stone dust. We also detected some hints of cedar, teaberry, and red cherry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and light tannins show nice length. The Tasting Panel would pair this complex Pinot with duck confit. Enjoy
Winemaker Notes:
"A blend of Au Bon Climat's top Pinot barrels from different vineyard sources, the Isabelle Pinot is their most highly regarded. It is a bright and effusive wine with tons of aromatic presence and fine balance. Sweet red cherry fruit, orange peel, spice, and dried herbs open first, followed by a host of perfumed floral notes that lead into the mid-palate and finish. Silky and quite elegant, all it really needs time in the bottle to come into its own. "
Alcohol: 13.5%
