After nearly 100 years, Viu Manent is still family owned and operated (a rarity in Chile, especially for a winery of this size).  Viu Manent is a historic and highly-respected site located in the Colchagua Valley, one of the best sites in the region.  Colchagua Valley is one Chile's best known wine regions and has earned much applause for its full-bodied Cabernet, Carmenere, Syrah and Malbec.  Its wines regularly appear high on the world's lists of leading wines.  Viu Manenet is one of the longest established producers in the region and the most awarded Chilean winery.  Two of Chile's top names consult with the winery on a permanent basis - Paul Hobbs (winemaking) and Roberto PIzarro (vineyard management).  The estate's award-winning wines have met with much critical praise.  The importer, Grape Expectations, considers Viu Manenet's wines to be the best value in the country with some of the most solid under $20 wines you'll find anywhere in the world.  The 2020 Viu Manent La Capilla Cabernet Sauvignon is juicy, full-bodied and impressive.  It's powerful yet creamy with taut berry fruit and fine-grained tannins.  This Cabernet has notes of mineral, cassis, fresh red fruit, cherries, blackcurrants, tobacco and subtle spice.  It's ample, complex, vibrant and richly textured with great depth - a true pleasure to drink.  Enjoy!

Wine Advocate, 92 Points

"The 2020 La Capilla Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon has a restrained 13.7% alcohol and comes from a rare terroir of silt and volcanic ash, low-yielding and with a textured mouthfeel with very fine-grained tannins, which they say is similar to the texture of the soil, a lot thinner than the grainy tannins from the Cabernet in Maipo."

James Suckling, 92 Points

"A juicy, full-bodied cabernet sauvignon with tight, fine-grained tannins that unleashes mineral, cassis and roasted spices. Powerful yet creamy tannins frame the taut berry fruit. Impressive! Drink or hold."

Winemaker Notes:

"Cherry red in color. The perfumed nose presents layer after layer of aromas that recall fresh red fruits, cherries, blackcurrants, tobacco, and a subtle spice note. The ample, complex, vibrant, and richly textured palate expresses its origin. The wine also has great depth and is very pleasing to drink."
