"I often think that perhaps I have underrated the Dauvissat premier crus in the cellars at this time of year, after they have been assembled in tank, once I get to the grand crus that are still resting in cask and still showing each and every facet of their beauty. The 2020 les Preuses is a stunning wine chez Dauvissat, offering up a youthful and breathtaking nose of lemon, a touch of sweet grapefruit, pear, chalky, oyster shell, iodine, orange zest, a hint of paraffin and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and racy in personality, with a stunning core of fruit, a kaleidoscope of supporting minerality, snappy acids, laser-like focus and a very, very long, very complex finish of simply perfect balance. As ever, this wine is more floral-mineral than it is fruity, standing out for its ethereal personality in contradistinction with the blockier, more muscular Les Clos."

"Pale lemon and lime in colour. There is a more exotic fruit here, baked apples and nectarine, but just a light covering on top of the Chablis classicism. The texture of grand cru is clear to see here with stones bringing up the finish - indeed, ‘silky stones’ according to Vincent."

The palate is well balanced, powerful and deep, turning very spicy on the midpalate and delivering a crescendo of flavors toward the finish. Yet, something about this Les Preuses says it’s holding back much of what it has to offer. Be patient."

"A gorgeously elegant and wafting nose is perhaps the purest of the entire range with its essence of mineral reduction, oyster shell, quinine and spicy poached pear wisps. The texture of the stony middle weight flavors immediately reminds one of just how classy Preuses is when it's 'on' and this was on with its caressing mouthfeel that is refined to the point of finesse, yet the finish is vibrancy, detailed and hugely long. This has the potential to be one of the wines of the vintage. *Burghound Don't Miss!*"
