"This is also relatively floral in character, but the spice dark berry fruit aromas are much earthier, indeed pungently so. There is excellent power and volume to the tautly muscular larger-scaled flavors that coat the palate with dry extract on the moderately rustic and lengthy finish. This should age effortlessly and is a wine that is not likely to drink well before at least 7 to 8 years have passed. *Outstanding!*"

"Aromas of plums, wild berries, sweet soil tones and woodsmoke introduce the 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Aux Fournaux, a medium to full-bodied, richer and more muscular expression of Savigny than the supple, charming Lavières. Less immediate, this is more of a medium- to long-term proposition."

"The 2019 Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Fourneaux 1er Cru, which Rossignol described as "a big boy," in fact has a more elegant bouquet than the Lavières. The 30% whole bunch is nicely integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet core of black fruit mixed with cassis and blueberry, and weighty toward a finish that lacquers the mouth, leaving sour cherry on the aftertaste."
