"I have really liked the wines I have tasted from Nicolas Durand in the past and his 2020s are truly exceptional. The 2020 Chénas is very pure and transparent this year, coming in at 13.5 percent octane and offering up a very expressive nose of cherries, sweet cranberries, woodsmoke, a beautifully complex base of soil, fresh thyme and a touch of orange peel in the upper register. On the palate the wine is bright, tangy and full, with lovely focus and grip, a good core of red fruit, lovely soil signature, bouncy acids and just a whisper of backend tannin on the long and complex finish. This is a lovely bottle of Chénas."
