"The wine that used to be called Garnacha is now the 2020 Los Cascajos ("the gravels" in Spanish) from vines between 25 and 50 years of age that were regrafted to Garnacha. It fermented in open-top oak barrels and stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and short and soft pump- overs and then transferred to 400- and 500-liter oak barrels and oak vats for malolactic and aging. This is extremely young and expressive, a juicy Garnacha at its best, with wild berry, flower and herb aromas and a medium-bodied palate with round tannins and pristine flavors. 5,500 bottles were filled in August 2021."
