"Mid lemon colour. The two exponents of Grenouilles with, which I am most familiar, this one and Benoît Droin’s are quite similar in 2019 though one has a wood component and Louis Michel’s of course does not. Both seem at ease in the hot dry conditions as a spicy character is part of Grenouilles. Hot years seem to complement this terroir rather than expose it. The overrising characteristic is of white fruit infused with peppers. Worth laying down for the long term."

"The 2019 Chablis Grand Cru Grenouilles is excellent, offering up aromas of clear honey, white flowers, green apple and citrus blossom. Full-bodied, concentrated and textural, it's seamless and intense, concluding with a long, expansive finish."

"Firm reduction presently masks the nose though I suspect it will quickly dissipate once the wine is racked. There is once again excellent volume to the delicious, round and caressing larger-scaled flavors thanks to the abundant dry extract that serves to buffer the moderately structured acid spine shaping the clean and moderately dry finale. This is bigger, richer and more powerful but not quite as classy as the Vaudésir."
