"The 2019 Riesling Trois Chateaux Eichberg Grand Cru is on deeper, richer limestone soils. The nose has a bright, fresh touch of moss alongside the lemon notions. This is highly aromatic. The palate comes in with incisive freshness and enviable clarity. This is taut, cool, smooth, citric, fragrant, exuberant and beginning to relax but always anchored by freshness with a lasting tang of lemon zest, most elegant. (Bone-dry)"
James Suckling, 94 Points
"Lush, tropical and spicy aromas pour from the glass, but this also has impressive freshness and energy. Concentrated and crisp, this is an imposing dry riesling that still needs some time to open up. Very long and intense finish that’s both mineral and precise. Drinkable now, but best from 2024."
Winemaker Notes:
"This south/southeast-facing vineyard sits at an altitude of 340 meters (1,115 feet) above sea level in a dry, warm microclimate that is well protected by the Vosges Mountains. Sandstone rocks can be found throughout the clay and limestone soil, and parts of the vineyard have significant deposits of white quartzite. The soil is well aerated and rich in minerals and gives powerful wines with complex aromatics and substantial body supported by good acidity. These grand cru wines age beautifully."
