Winemaker Notes:
"This 2018 marks the first-ever release of “Memento Mori,” a new cuvée from Louis-Benjamin Dagueneau that was created to pay homage to his late father. It is a special parcel and barrel selection that was historically designated for “Silex.” This cuvée, classified as a Vin de France appellation, is a remarkable Loire wine. Guided by the principles promoted by his father (which have made headlines for years), the winegrower conducts conscientious viticulture, between disbudding and reasoned viticulture. The bunches are harvested by hand, over a very short period. In the cellar, he also follows in his father's footsteps, since he too trusts his instincts. Also the vinification is carried out with indigenous yeasts, the settling is tight, and the aging on the lees, carried out for a long time."
