2014 Recaredo Intens Rosat Brut Nature [WA92][WS90]

"I was very impressed with the 2014 Intens Rosat Brut Nature Gran Reserva, a truly Mediterranean wine with an intense color (it looks more like a light red), and for the first time, it doesn't have any Pinot Noir, which was ripped out in 2014. So, this is a blend of 86% Monastrell and 14% Garnacha, and ironically enough, now that it doesn't have any Pinot, the wine feels more Burgundian than ever! It's also more vinous with the texture of the bubbles, a wine that happens to have bubbles. It feels more austere than the previous vintages, something I like, and it has elegant rusticity with a pleasant bitterness in the finish." 

"Deeply hued, somewhere between ruby and garnet in color, this satiny sparkling rosé frames a brambly mix of macerated black cherry and raspberry fruit, wild herb and lavender notes, with lithe and lively acidity. Not a powerhouse, but the bright character and fine harmony recommend it for sipping, as well as pairing with food; explore matches ranging from Iberico ham to roasted squab. Monastrell and Garnatxa."
