Well, this one fell into our laps and aren't we glad it did! At the last minute, we were given the oppurtunity to taste several older barrels of George Dickel Tennessee Whisky. Two barrels clocked in at just over 21 years old and the one we picked was over 18 years old. I should mention that all the Dickel single barrels are labeled as "Aged At Least 15 Years". We have added a sticker with fill and bottled dates to show that this pick is actually 18! Of the three barrel's we were given, we felt that this one was the least Dickel-y. In other words, the least (none that we detected) of that controversial mineral note (think Flinststone's vitamins) that many of you detest. This barrel is a fantastic example of how well Tennessee Whisky can age with grace. The other important thing to note is that the distillery release of George Dickel 18yr has an MSRP over $500. Our pick is only $59.99! Don't ask, just take advantage of the system!
 
Nose: Pecan, maple, amaretto, cherry cordial, citrus
 
Taste: Coats the palate with cherry, hazelnut and candied orange
 
Finish: Long and lingering especially at this proof. Richness expands through entire palate. Cherry cordial holds true.
 
Alc: 50.4%/ 100.8 proof
