When I got the call that we were invited out to Bardstown to taste through some older Willett barrels I was ecstatic. At the time, I had no idea what we would actually be coming away with. We got a chance to try through some 9 and 10 year old barrels of several different recipes and honestly, every very barrel was superb! We wound up picking what they call their old-school or original mash bill (72 Corn, 13 Rye, 15 Malted Barley with a barrel entry of 125 proof) aged for 10 years. As far as we know, the barrel we picked is the oldest bourbon, that was actually distilled at Willett, available in the market today! 10 Year Willett is a "holy grail" bourbon for many enthusiasts and we couldn't be more excited to share it with you!

Our Observations:

Nose: Tons of sweet oak and stone fruit give way to red fruits (Fruit Stripe gum!) Freshly shaved oak. Honey. Super complex and intoxicating. 

Taste: Rich and bold with an incredible texture that belies it's high proof. Honey, red fruits and a hint of beeswax. Sweet oak.The finish lasts long enough to walk from one end of our warehouse and back again and again... This is other-level stuff!

Alcohol: 67.4%
