Barrel Date August 8, 2016 

The biggest surprise of our last barrel trip to Kentucky was discovering the high quality whiskey coming out of Peerless Distilling Co in Louisville. Located on the banks on the Ohio River and minutes from downtown, Peerless Distilling has been opened since 2015 and is already producing some super high quality juice. Peerless uses a sweet mash method, which in our opinion, yields higher quality bourbon in a shorter amount of time. The barrel we chose is among their oldest stocks at just over 6 years and is clean, smooth, and delicious. We couldn’t be happier with the way this one turned out and are looking forward to selecting more barrels from Peerless in the future.

Our Observations:

Sight: Dark Copper Color, Very Inviting

Nose: Blood Orange, Raspberry, Caramel Corn, Cherry Hard Candy, not a flaw to be found, super clean!

Taste: Polished Oak, Cherry, Sweet, Rich, Super Clean 

Alcohol: 55.05%/110.1 Proof
