John Gilman, 97 Points

"The 2020 Raveneau Valmur will be one of the legends of the vintage in Burgundy twenty or thirty years from now. The nose is deep, refined and precise, delivering scents of tart orange, pear, apple, a beautiful base of limestone minerality, a touch of anise, citrus peel, wet stones, spring flowers and beeswax. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and gorgeously structured, with a rock solid core, stunning backend minerality and grip, zesty acids and a very, very long, very pure finish. (Drink between 2032-2085)"

Burghound, 96 Points

"Once again there is just enough wood to mention on the green fruit, shellfish, quinine-suffused nose. The sleekly muscular, rich, powerful and serious larger-scaled flavors are unusually refined for Valmur before concluding in a driving, bone-dry and hugely long finale. This is a big but impeccably well-balanced effort that should easily repay 12 to 15 years of cellaring. In short, this is seriously good.

Wine Advocate, 96 Points

"With its iodine-inflected aromas of confit citrus, crisp green orchard fruit, freshly baked bread and petrol and its full-bodied, layered and incisive palate, the 2020 Chablis Grand Cru Valmur is in a sense (as is often the case) the most classically Chablisien of Raveneau's three grand cru bottlings this year. Concentrated and chiseled, with a long, chalky finish, it's a magical young wine in the making, much as it was from barrel. An embarrassment of riches awaited me at Domaine Raveneau, where I revisited the now just-bottled 2020s and also tasted the 2019s that were mid-bottling during my last visit to the domaine. Isabelle and Maxime Raveneau began the harvest on August 28, 2020, and were happy with their choice, reporting finished alcohol levels between 12.8% to 13.5%. Bright and incisive, the 2020s have turned out brilliantly, as have the 2019s, in their somewhat richer, more muscular register. Chablis lovers will have a hard time choosing between them—and a lot of fun comparing them—over the decades to come."

Vinous, 93-95 Points

"The 2020 Chablis Valmur Grand Cru is more backward and reserved compared to the Blanchots- The Valmur comes across a little terse, serious, stony and zen-like. The poised palate offers a silver bead of acidity and intermingled flavors of citrus lemon and orange zest toward the saline finish. Perhaps, the Blanchots possesses a little more charm at this early stage. As Isabelle Raveneau averred, this will be for longer aging."

Decanter, 94 Points

"Attractive, with hints of peach and flowers, coming from 45-year-old vines. Warm but not at all hot on the nose. Very fine line of acidity, plus an intriguing, pristine quality. Not a blockbuster; quite delicate and refined."
