"This half-hectare of vines is underneath the Premier Cru Les Sentiers on the border with Morey-St-Denis. The average vine age is 50 years, although many vines are much older, with 30% of the fruit fermented as whole clusters and ageing taking place in 20% new wood. The result has remarkable purity of fruit and a typical Chambolle perfume, with a violet-scented raspberry and cassis fruit profile, lively freshness, and impressive depth of flavour." 

"From 55 to 60 year old vines on average across the four plots. A little more depth of colour and with characteristic elegance. Then a huge burst of dense raspberry on the second half of the palate, with a fine-grained tannin at the back. Long and balanced."
