Alexander Valley is often referred to as "California's Bordeaux" and some of the best grapes in the world are grown here making it a winemaker's dream location for world-class wine. It only makes sense that deLorimier would choose California's Bordeaux for their signature Meritage blend. Meritage is a winemaker's art form and the name given to blending Bordeaux varietals to achieve a complex and balanced wine. In order to be called Meritage, the blend must contain at least two Bordeaux grapes. Bordeaux-style blends are quite popular in California with two of the most famous examples being Opus One and Joseph Phelps Insignia. deLorimier's Meritage blend was one of the first varietals they produced when they began in 1986. When Ken and Diane Wilson discovered this property in 2008 they knew at once it would be their new showcase. deLormier focuses on the art of blending wines with their signature being the Meritage. Their wines are known more for the character of the estate than the varietal content. They have have a long tradition of producing award-winning wines. With hundreds of gold medals and best of class honors, the wines just get better and better with each new vintage. The 2019 deLorimier Mosaic Meritage is elegant, classic and will age beautifully. At 15%, this blend is rich and intense. The velvety entry flows into a burst of juicy fruit. It has notes of dark plum, red currant, dark berries, cherry, vanillin oak, spicy cedar, cocoa, tobacco and forest floor. This wine is delicious with a creamy texture and a lingering finish. Enjoy!

"More oak note, elegant, classic, will age beautifully."
Winemaker Notes:
"Spicy hints of forest floor weave through perfumey aromatics of dark plum, red currant and vanillin oak. The velvety entry flows into a gentle burst of juicy fruit—red and black currant, mixed dark berries, cherry and plum—laced with a delicious spicy cedar essence. The creamy texture also reveals traces of cocoa and tobacco that merge with the fruit core as the flavors linger in the finish."
