"Aromas of ripe apricots and citrus peel. The texture is pleasantly waxy, with perhaps less acidity than some sites, but enough mineral and smoke notes to be recognisably Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey. This wine is produced from 50-year-old vines in the south-facing but high altitude site of Le Blanc in St-Aubin. The grapes were picked starting on the 20th of August and were fermented in large, mostly neutral casks."

"Lieu-dit Le Banc, formerly bottled as such, makes up some 80% of Colin's 2020 Saint-Aubin Village. Exhibiting aromas of pear, orange oil, white flowers and freshly baked bread, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and lively, with chalky dry extract and bright girdling acids. The 2020 vintage is another very promising year for Pierre-Yves Colin, who finds the wines a bit more charming and demonstrative than the more serious, structured 2019s—the latter a vintage we revisited in bottle and which appears to possess considerable aging potential. As readers may know, Colin's bigger cuvées are crushed and see four-hour press cycles, whereas smaller cuvées aren't crushed but see even longer press cycles lasting five or more hours. Vinification and maturation in barrel, with a heavy emphasis on larger-format barrels, follows."
Burghound,
"A smoky, cool and restrained nose combines notes of white peach with those of mineral reduction and freshly sliced grapefruit. The mouthfeel of the medium-bodied flavors is also quite sleek with fine precision and vibrancy that carry over to the lemony, dry and focused finale."
