"The 2018 la Bussière is also a very strong village wine this year. This vineyard is right on the Morey border (and is adjacent to Christophe Roumier’s Clos de la Bussière in the next village) and so, the wine has a bit more black fruit in its aromatic constellation of plums, red and black cherries, dark chocolate, a touch of mustard seed, lovely soil tones and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is deep, pure and nicely soil-driven on the backend, with a good core of sappy fruit, fine-grained tannins and lovely length and grip on the well-balanced finish. This has a bit more structure than the Vieilles Vignes bottling, and will need a few more years in the cellar to blossom as a result, but it is also even a bit better overall. (Drink between 2026-2050)"
