"The 2017 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Chaignots is showing very well from bottle, unfurling in the glass with a deep bouquet of red berries, cassis, exotic spices, dark chocolate and rich soil tones, framed by a deft touch of new oak. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, deep and youthfully structured, its concentrated core of fruit framed by an ample chassis of powdery tannin and lively acids. This is one 2017 that will demand a little patience, but its potential is excellent."
