Peter and Mimi Buckley founded Front Porch Farm in 2010 after years in the corporate world.  At Front Porch, it's all about the land and the farming.  Front Porch Farm is located in Healdsburg and a true local favorite.  It's a small, boutique winery operation producing about 24,000 bottles a year from their fully estate, organically certified vineyards.  It's 110-acre mosaic of organic fruit orchards, plots of vegetables, rows of flowers and vineyards.  According to a January 2016 research study performed by the American Association of Wine Economists, “organic wines taste better" and that's why the vineyards at Front Porch are meticulously farmed and certified organic.  They focus on producing artisanal wines and grow only Rhone varietals because of the grapes' natural affinity for our Mediterranean type climate.  Their aim is to produce balanced and harmonious wines.   Sebastian Pochan (previously the winemaker for Unti) is the new winemaker, and he brings his balanced, old-world style (he’s French) to the estate.  The 2017 Front Porch Proprietary White Wine is a full-bodied and aromatic white Rhone blend. It’s bright and crisp with a long finish. This blend is rich with notes of honeysuckle, cantaloupe, tangerine and a touch of nuttiness.  It's also a total deal for this quality.   Enjoy!

Winemaker Notes:

"A bit more Viognier in this blend brings out honeysuckle, cantaloupe and tangerine with a touch of almond nuttiness from the Roussanne. It is a rich wine that shows the same viscosity and long finish as the best white blends from Chateau-Neuf-du-Pape."

About the Vintage:

"2017 started with a cold winter. Some heavy rains finally replenished the reservoirs. Summer was seesaw-like with some heat waves which forced us to irrigate more than usual and accelerated ripening. Temperatures finally cooled in mid September. Production method was whole cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel tank below 70 F. No inoculation. Partial ML."

Alcohol: 13.3%

CCOF Certified Organic.  Only 465 cases produced.
