"Medium to full-bodied, the rich, opulent palate is matched with lovely freshness, with soft, rounded tannins and a long, spicy finish."
About the Producer:
"Founded in 1973, Chateau St. Jean produces exceptional wines from Sonoma County. Chateau St. Jean is a winemaking estate located in the Sonoma Valley near Kenwood, California.
Winemaker Margo Van Staaveren is the 4th winemaker in the winery’s history. In August of 2003, she was named Winemaker and Director of Operations for Chateau St. Jean. During the course of her tenure with the winery, Margo Van Staaveren has played a pivotal role in every facet of the winemaking process.
The winery was designed to accommodate numerous lots of grapes and keep them separate throughout the winemaking process. Wines from each special vineyard are bottled and marketed separately.
Chateau St. Jean was the first Sonoma winery to be awarded the prestigious “Wine of the Year” award from the Wine Spectator Magazine for Cinq Cepages. The winery also produces vineyard designated Chardonnays from the acclaimed Robert Young, Durell and Belle Terre vineyards."
