2013 Rivers-Marie Summa Old Vines Pinot Noir [V94]
Region: Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County, California
Varietal: Pinot Noir
Vinous, 94 Points
"The 2013 Pinot Noir Summa Old Vines is one of the more complete wines in the range. Orange peel, white pepper and pomegranate add an element of exoticism to this beautifully layered, silky Pinot. The supple, voluptuous finish makes the Old Vines quite appealing today, but it also has enough stuffing to drink well for many years. If opened young, the 2013 needs quite a bit of air. This fruit came in on October 14, exceedingly late by any standard, but especially so for an early year."
