"The 1937 Pereira d’Oliveira Sercial Reserva is one of the greatest examples of Sercial I have ever had the pleasure to taste. The wine is simply gorgeous, soaring from the glass in a stunning blend of cherries, figs, new leather, pain épice, cigar wrapper, and a topnote of rancio.

On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, pure and very intensely flavored, with great focus and balance, brilliant complexity and a very, very long, tangy finish that closes with outstanding grip and precision. This is remarkably light on its feet for a wine that was only bottled in 2003 and spent sixty-six years concentrating in cask. A simply brilliant bottle of Sercial!
