Bodegas Frontonio is making the greatest Garnacha you've never heard of.  Frontonio is the passion project of three friends; Fernando Mora MW, oenologist Mario Lopez and international business lawyer Francisco Latasa from Zaragoza. It has emerged as one of the most refreshing wine ventures in Aragon and is driving Garnacha's renaissance in the area.  Here, Garnacha reigns supreme and Mora even refers to himself as the Garnacha Samurai.  They produce scintillating and truly glorious wines that are some of the very best made east of Rioja.  Frontonio has garnered effusive praise from both Wine Advocate and wine critic Jancis Robinson.  Best of all, prices are very fair for the high quality of wine that is produced.  Garnacha Blanca (called Grenache Blanc outside of Spain) is a full-bodied white wine that is loved for its intense flavors, higher alcohol content and plush style.  It's a tasty, complex and food friendly wine.  Green richness is the theme that carries through all Garnacha Blanca wines. The aromas will burst with green fruit and citrus notes including Asian pear, green apple, unripe mango, lime zest, and white peach.  On the palate it will be plump and rich with juicy pear flavors that lead into lean herbal notes of green almond or dried green herbs and salty minerals.  Garnacha Blanca is a great alternative for Chardonnay lovers and the perfect summer wine.  The 2022 Bodegas Frontonio Botijo Blanco Garnacha Blanca is ripe, fresh and vivid with a creamy texture.  It's dry with crisp acidity and vibrant citrus.  This white has notes of white flowers, lime and grapefruit.  It's a fresh, elegant surprise and one that will stump even the best blind tasters.  Enjoy!

"Produced with white organic grapes from the same zone as the red version, the 2022 Botijo Blanco is pure Garnacha Blanca from dry-farmed vines on white limestone soils. It fermented in concrete with indigenous yeasts and matured in concrete with the fine lees and bâtonnage for five to seven months. It's varietal, waxy, fresh and balsamic, with a note reminiscent of bay leaf, amazing acidity and moderate alcohol and ripeness (13%). It has a bitter and salty twist in the finish, the tastiness of limestone."
