2016 Domaine de Montille Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Le Cailleret [BH91-93]
Producer: Domaine de Montille
Region: Puligny-Montrachet, Cote de Beaune, Burgundy, France
The name "Le Cailleret" refers to the stony and rocky soils on which the vines are planted. Their Premier Cru Puligny "Le Cailleret" was planted in 1993, and this 0.85 hectare parcel is as close as it can be to Montrachet. The team has farmed organically since 1995 and biodynamically since 2005. Today, their wines are certified by Ecocert.

"An elegant and airy nose combines notes of acacia blossom, citrus and mineral reduction. The sleek, intense and overtly stony middle weight flavors possess a sophisticated mouth feel before culminating in a clean and agreeably dry finish. This needs to develop more depth but the underlying material is present for that to occur and my predicted range assumes that it will."
