About the Wine: 

"The 'Grand Fleur-de-Lys' offering is a blend of Pinot Noir grapes from DeLoach’s estate vineyard located on the Olivet Bench of the Russian River Valley. Crafted specifically for the Sonoma County Barrel Auction, blocks were selected based on flavor profile to showcase the Russian River Valley and the unique terroir of the vineyard. This exclusive blend is not only a true expression of the vintage but also speaks to the pioneering heritage of DeLoach Vineyards. 

The Fleur-de-Lys has a rich history dating back to 3000 B.C. before becoming synonymous with French royalty in the 12th century. Since 1979, it has adorned the labels of DeLoach wines. Emphasizing the French heritage of the DeLoach name and the winery’s specialization in Burgundian winemaking techniques and Pinot Noir, the symbol is an integral component of the winery. When DeLoach Vineyards joined Boisset Collection, the French link between the Fleur-deLys, the DeLoach name and Burgundy became even stronger. 

Upon release, this wine will offer the ultimate expression of the DeLoach estate vineyards with red fruit flavors of strawberry, cherry and plum. A balanced wine with earthy notes and a touch of black tea, the flavors will spread across the palate with a nicely textured mouthfeel and a long finish."
