Sean and Juliana McBride established Crosby Roamann in 2006. It is a boutique winery crafting sophisticated, small production. The Sean W. McBride wines are an offshoot of this label. They produce terroir-driven wines with traditional values. It is a true family operation and everything is done by hand. They source from small, family vineyards that follow organic, biodynamic or sustainable farming to create single vineyard, single appellation, hand-crafted wines. The wines from the McBride family are exquisite. The 2021 Sean W. McBride Rowan Vineyard Syrah is dense, lush and mouth-filling with a long, tantalizing finish. It has delicious raspberry, blackberry and cedar notes. It's medium-bodied and moderately tannic. This Syrah has generous red and black fruits and a soothing texture. Smooth and inviting, this wine is approachable and ready to enjoy in the near term. The wine displays a deep plum center with a ruby edge, embodying the classic smoky profile of Syrah. Enjoy!
Decanter, 94 Points
"Appearance shows a plum core with ruby rim, it is very characteristic of smoky Syrah with a texture that is not rough and tumble but rather inviting. Menthol note is present but not overpowering in any way."
Wine Enthusiast, 91 Points
"Dense, lush and mouth-filling, this medium-bodied and moderately tannic wine is generous in red and black fruits, soothing in texture and approachable for drinking soon. Delicious raspberry, blackberry and cedar notes stand out."
Winemaker Notes:
"Meaty, musky, and sexy, with a long, tantalizing finish with notes of beef’s blood, bacon, leather, orange flower, and soft chalky acid. Our Rowan Vineyard Syrah occupies a hillside on the northern edge of the Petaluma Gap, on a steep, south-facing, rolling hillside with the steepest slopes facing south and southwest. The soil here has a higher percentage of limestone than usual for this area. The grapes are fully destemmed and fermented in stainless steel for 14-21 days, and the wine is aged in 40% new French oak barrels for eighteen months."
Alcohol: 13%
