2017 Forty Ounce Rosé
Producer: Forty Ounce Wines
Region: Vin de France (Loire Valley)
Varietal: Mostly Gamay with Cab Franc, Merlot and Pineau d’Aunis
Though it would be easy to judge this book by its cover (or in this case, bottle), Forty Ounce Rosé might be more than you expect. This French rosé is produced in the Loire Valley by Julien Braud, a young winemaker known for working organically. And despite coming in mass market packaging, only 1,200 cases were produced.
This dry, crisp rosé is full of notes of strawberry, rhubarb and candied blood orange. Our staff adds this wine is no joke--it fits in your backyard or at an upscale picnic. One liter of heaven in a bottle.
