2016 Bodegas Breca Garnacha Aragon Old Vines
Producer: Bodegas Breca
Region: Zaragoza, Calatayud, Spain
2015 Vintage - #29 Wine Spectator Top 100
Winemaker's Note: "A wine with a deep color and character, as well as lively acidity. It is characterized by aromas of ripe black fruit compote, overlaid with spices such as black pepper. There is an obvious minerality to the wine, proceeding from vineyards’ diverse range of soil types. The soils range from iron rich red slate and clay to black slate."
Made of the oldest clone of Grenache in the world, this wine comes from old mountain vineyards planted between 1900 and 1940. Unterraced, dry farmed and organic, the grapes are impacted by intense temperature swings and unique soils––producing wines of deep color and lively acidity.
Dry farmed and organically grown.
